One-and-a-Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Milkpan, probably J. Keister & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1865, tapered pan with applied lug handles and pouring spout, decorated with a brushed cobalt swag design around the circumference of the vessel. Chipped section to one handle. Several rim chips. Y-shaped crack on underside, extending onto reverse side of pan, where it spreads and continues under one handle. Stone ping to shoulder. H 5 5/8" ; Diameter 11 3/8".
