Rare Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "EATON & STOUT," Washington, NJ, circa 1825, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and rounded spout, decorated with a stylized cobalt floral design resembling a flower head or bird in a nest. Additional cobalt brushed over the "EATON & STOUT" mark, the three-gallon capacity, and at the ends of the handle. An unusual and desirable early New Jersey mark. As-made condition with a few stone pings and a 2 1/4" separation line on underside. H 15 1/4".
