Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Midwestern origin, circa 1850, cylindrical jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated on the front with a brushed cobalt flower. Faint lines in underside, possibly in-the-firing. Two salt drips to front. Salt glob at base of one handle. 1 1/2" glazed-over flake to front. Rim chip on reverse. H 14".
