Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E. & L. P. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a long-tailed bird perched on leaf. Significant restoration to surface, not touching bird. Some fry to bird. Small Y-shaped crack at base. H 13".
