Rare One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "L.D. FUNKHOUSER & CO / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with splayed foot, profusely-decorated with a cobalt swag and hanging flower decoration. Spout decorated with cobalt swags. Rim decorated with cobalt dashes. Provenance: From a thirty-year VA collection. Restoration to base of handle. Restoration to rim and section of collar, including three cobalt dashes on one side. Faint lines and some restoration to base. H 12".
