Extremely Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "T. GRIM / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with squared rim, decorated with four finely-brushed cobalt flowers. Shoulder impressed with very rare Theophilus Grim maker's mark. Pieces marked "T. GRIM / STRASBURG, VA," when found, typically have no cobalt decoration. Provenance: From a thirty-year VA collection. Several minor rim chips. Otherwise mint condition. H 9 1/2".
