Very Fine Westerwald Stoneware "GR" Jug with Elaborate incised Decoration, German origin, circa 1740, bulbous jug with tooled foot and heavily-tooled collar, decorated with a large applied "GR" medallion surrounded by a skillfully-incised floral design embellished with impressed flower blossoms and circles. Decoration highlighted in cobalt slip. Collar highlighted in manganese slip. Brushed cobalt "4" on reverse. Minor glazed-over rim chip. H 7 1/2".
