Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "NICHOLS & BOYNTON / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1856-1859, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flower with curling stamens. In-the-firing handle chip. Several small chips to interior of rim where a lid would rest. 1" filled and colored chip at base on reverse. Minor filled and colored chip on top of rim. In-the-firing bubbling of salt glaze on surface. H 12 1/2".
