One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER. / NEW-YORK.," Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt drape design on the front and back. Cobalt brushed over the handles as well. Desirable small size. 4" sealed crack from rim on front. 1 1/4" hairline from rim on reverse. Small chip on exterior of rim and few small chips on interior of rim. Worn spot at end of one handle. Stone ping near base. H 9 1/4".
