Small-Sized Spongeware Maple Syrup Jug, Marked " MFGD BY F.H. WEEKS. / STYLE / XXX / PAT. PENDING / AKRON, O.," late 19th century, molded jug with pouring spout and bail handle made of metal and wood, the surface decorated with sponged cobalt over a white Bristol slip glaze. The words "GRANDMOTHERS / MAPLE SYRUP / OF 50 YEARS AGO" within an oval at base. Shallow base chip, which has been colored blue. Small, shallow chip on underside. Nick to spout. A few minor nicks on interior of opening. Paint wear to handle. H 5".
