One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY POTTERY," New York State origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Horizontal crack in handle. Three spout chips. Two small salt drips and tiny flake on front. Two in-the-firing horizontal surface lines extending under upper handle terminal. H 11 1/4".
