Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "SATERLEE & MORY / FORT EDWARD NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a cobalt bird with crest and long tail, perched on a leaf. Significant flaking to reverse. Less severe flaking near base on front. 8 3/4" spider crack from rim on reverse. Rim chips. Small handle chip. H 14 3/4".
