Ovoid Stoneware Jar, Stamped "W. STATES," Stonington, CT origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with cobalt at the ends of the handles and across the impressed name. Chipping to base. 7/8" rim chip above one handle. 6" Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse. H 9 3/8".
