Five-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Southeastern U.S. origin, late 19th century, rotund jar with flaring flattened rim and applied tab handles, covered in a drippy brownish alkaline glaze. Incised "5" on shoulder. Shallow 1 1/4" rim chip. H 14 1/4".
