Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Cobalt Fuschia Decoration, "E. FOWLER / BEAVER, PA," circa 1870, pail-shaped crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an undulating cobalt vine bearing leaves and two very large fuschia blossoms. Script cobalt 3 with dashes at midsection. Dryness to cobalt on right flower. 1 1/4" chip to edge of one handle. 1 1/2" chipped section to opposite handle. Very faint 4" Y-shaped line on side of crock, which is in the surface only and does not extend through to interior. 7/8" faint line in rim, which does not extend through to interior. H 11 1/2".
