Rare Folk Art Stoneware Bank with Star Decoration and Albany Slip Glaze, Midwestern origin, late 19th century, globular bank resting on four feet with slot carved into top surface. Decorated with a series of incised stars around the shoulder, one decorated with a cream-colored slip. Feet incised to represent suns or stars. Incised border around midsection. Area around slot incised to represent some sort of celestial body, perhaps Halley's comet. Highly unusual footed form. Mint condition. H 3 1/2".
