Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, attributed to Abial Price, Middletown Point (now Matawan), NJ, circa 1845, approximately two-gallon stoneware churn with flared rim and unusually low, applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flower extending from a leafy stem and surrounded by a series of cobalt dashes. Excellent color, form, and decoration. Desirable New Jersey maker. Rim chips, numerous base chips, and hairline around base. H 16 1/2".
