Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "D.P. SHENFELDER / READING, PA," circa 1870, ovoid jug with tall spout and applied handle, decorated with a flowering vine design. Horizontal hairline in base of handle. 1 1/2" vertical hairline from base on front, which continues onto underside 1 1/2", and appears to be in-the-firing. 2", in-the-firing vertical line at base on the reverse. A second 2 1/4" vertical hairline from base on reverse. Faint 3" line to right of lower handle terminal. H 13 1/2".
