Rare Two-Piece Stoneware Pedestal-Base Urn with Ochre Bird Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1875, flared urn with flattened rim, decorated on each side with a slip-trailed design of a glossy ochre bird on branch, separated by leaf designs. Urn rests atop a separate pedestal base with three slip-trailed ochre line designs. From a long-time Ohio collection. Three hairlines from rim of urn, measuring 4 1/2", 5", and 5 1/2". 4" restored section to rim and rim molding. H 9 7/8".
