Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird on Stump Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1870, straight-sided crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed cobalt bird standing on a tree stump. Wide, curving crack from rim on front. Two additional cracks on front, measuring 6 1/2" and 5 1/4". Faint lines on underside, extending a short distance onto base. Rim chips. Handle chip. H 10 3/4".
