Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Eagle Decoration, "Stamped "WM E. WARNER / WEST-TROY," NY State origin, circa 1850, straight-sided crock with applied lug handles and rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed, spread-winged eagle holding a banner in its beak. Eagle and banner are embellished with numerous slip-trailed dashes and dots. Flaking to right side of front at base, extending partway onto reverse side of crock. Base chips. 5" hairline from rim on reverse. Small chips to one handle. Some fry to cobalt. H 9 3/4".
