Large Westerwald Stoneware Georgus Rex Mug, German origin, 18th century, with tooled bands and incised floral decorations extending from the an embossed seal with a crown and the initials "G R," for King George of England. Restored cracks from rim, extending approximately 3" down front of mug, to left of "G R" seal. The top inch of two of these cracks is unrepaired and therefore still visible. Rim chip. Small, shallow chip to shoulder. Crack on underside, extending 3" up base. H 6 3/4".
