Large-Sized Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Kaolin Slip Decoration, attributed to Thomas Chandler, Edgefield, SC, circa 1850, ovoid jar with narrow opening, decorated around the shoulder on each side and under each handle with a kaolin slip looping line design over an alkaline glaze. Amateur complete restoration to handles and rim chips. Decoration is light and surface is dry on much of jar. H 16 1/2".
