Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Freehand Decoration, attributed to J.H. Miller, Brandenburg, KY, circa 1860, straight-sided crock with flattened rim, decorated with several rows of alternating cobalt flowerheads and oval brushwork. Impressed "2" on shoulder. 5" heavily chipped area to rim. 2 1/2" X-shaped line on interior, which does not go through to exterior. H 11 1/4".
