Five-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to G. & A. Black, Somerfield, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with squared rim and applied handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flowering vine design. Several cracks on one side, including a large X-shaped crack. 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" cracks in rim on opposite side. One rim chip and one glazed-over rim chip. Heavy chipping to base. H 15 1/2".
