Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "HIGGINS & CO. / CLEVELAND, O.," circa 1840, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, brush-decorated with a double-blossomed plant motif. A few rim chips. Some minor surface wear and light streaks of Albany slip to exterior surface. A small in-the-firing base chip and minor in-the-firing base chip. H 11 1/4".
