Rare Small-Sized Molded Porcelain Corn Pitcher, probably Southern Porcelain Company, Kaolin, SC, circa 1860, molded pitcher with upswept spout and ornamental handle, decorated in relief around the body with a cornstalk pattern. Faint, illegible stamp on underside. Provenance: Includes an old tag on interior, reading "PHOEBE DEVOE SMITH GAVE THIS TO MOTHER WHEN SHE WAS 16 YRS. OLD- ORIG CAME FROM NEW ORLEANS." The Ferrell Collection, Wooten & Wooten Auction, Camden, SC, January 25, 2014, lot 45. A Y-shaped hairline on underside, continuing 3/8" up base. Exterior surface with small spots of wear and traces of old brownish residue. H 5 1/4".
