Glazed George Ohr Pottery Lidded Teapot, Stamped "GEO E OHR, / BILOXI, MISS," late 19th century, cylindrical form with rounded shoulder, featuring a twisted and depressed section around midsection, goose-neck spout, and applied strap handle, the exterior surface covered in a mottled rust-colored glaze. Clear glaze over orange clay to interior. Includes original recessed lid with delicate rounded finial and matching glaze. Underside of both teapot and lid impressed with George Ohr maker's mark. Provenance: Purchased by the Wards in 1999 at the Southern Folk Pottery Collectors Society Auction #14, Robbins, NC. Pot and lid in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 3 7/8".
