Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a flowering branch, accented with spotted trails. Cobalt accents to maker's mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. A 6" crack from rim on front. The code "M26" written in black marker on underside. H 10 3/4".
