Two Pieces of Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, second quarter 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jug, stamped "N CLARK & CO / LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1845, paired with an ovoid jar with cobalt foliate decoration and fitting salt-glazed lid, possibly original to the vessel. Jug with a large glazed-over flake to upper handle terminal, shallow in-the-firing chipping to spout, some small in-the-firing flaws, and light staining to surface. Jar with two short, thin cracks from rim, minor rim chips, minor chips to inner rim for lid, small surface flakes, and water glass staining. Lid with Y-shaped crack, two chips to knob, and water glass staining. H (of jug) 11 1/2".
