Three Glazed Stoneware Articles, attributed to the Meaders Pottery, Cleveland, GA, third quarter 19th century, a squat-shaped pitcher, glazed blue over reddish clay, attributed to Cheever Meaders, circa 1950s-1960s, unmarked; a bowl with tooled banding, covered in a cream-green glaze over white clay, probably Cheever or Arie Meaders, circa 1960s, unmarked; and a plate with grayish alkaline, attributed to Lanier Meaders, circa 1970s, unmarked. Provenance: Plate with label on underside, reading "Plate Lanier Meaders / mid-70's / Ralph Rinzler." Rinzler was a Smithsonian curator and co-founder of the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival; Frank W. White Collection. Pitcher with wear to rim and surface. Bowl in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Plate with J-shaped firing crack in underside, partially extending to interior. H (of pitcher) 6 1/8" ; Diam. (of bowl) 10 1/4".
