Five-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Signed and Dated "Lanier Meaders / 3-14-75," Cleveland, GA origin, 1975, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, the surface covered in a streaky, dark-olive alkaline glaze. Incised "5" below each handle. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature with the unusual addition of its date of manufacture. Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Some glaze flaws to interior of rim and interior of jar. Otherwise excellent condition. H 16 3/4".
