Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Bean Pot, Signed "Lm," Lanier Meaders, Cleveland, GA origin, circa 1960s, ovoid form with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and two rounded vertical handles applied at the shoulder, the surface covered in a mottled brown alkaline glaze over tan clay. Underside incised with the script initials, "Lm," a desirable, early form of signature for this potter. Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition, lacking lid. H 6" ; Diam. (of underside) 5 1/4".
