Large-Sized Lidded Redware Canning Jar with Manganese Glaze, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, the surface covered in a reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Includes original glazed lid with tooled knob finial. Jar in very nice condition with light surface wear. Lid with a chip to finial, a small flake to underside, and minor edge wear. H (including lid) 9 1/4".
