Three-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and pronounced, rounded collar, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a hanging floral motif flanked by swags. Includes original salt-glazed lid. Churn with several small rim chips, a few base chips, some minor residue to surface, and a small in-the-firing ping to shoulder. Lid with a 1 1/4" chip to edge and smaller chips around opening. H (excluding lid) 14 1/2".
