Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Iron-Oxide Decoration, John Davis Leopard or possibly Ussery Family, Bacon Level, Randolph County, AL, circa 1845, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with three large iron-oxide splotches against a green, alkaline-glazed ground with heavy runs. Very nice condition with some minor to small chips to bottom edge. H 11 1/4".
