Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Iron Slip Decoration, attributed to Thomas Chandler, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1850, ovoid jar with flaring, semi-rounded rim and large tab handles, iron-slip-decorated on the front and reverse with a slip-trailed drape design and below each handle with looping line motifs, all against gray-green alkaline-glazed ground. Excellent condition with a 1/2" chip to one handle. H 13 3/4".
