Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with tapered spout, brush-decorated with triple-blossomed plant featuring unusual wavy petals. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Very nice condition with two minor glazed-over nicks to spout, some minor base chips, minor surface wear, and light staining. H 14 1/4".
