Scarce Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "PENLAND," Buncombe County, NC origin, late 19th or early 20th century, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and tooled accents, covered in a mottled dark-olive alkaline glaze. Impressed with large, faint "PENLAND" maker's mark to midsection. Rim and spout chips. An approximately 1 3/4" hairline from rim. H 10 1/2".
