Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1985, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including unusual red-colored kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils, ears, nose, jowls, broad chin, and agape mouth with kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a glossy olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Section of proper right ear reglued. Otherwise excellent condition. H 10 1/2".
