Scarce Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Fredericktown, / Pa.," circa 1865, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling from his Fredericktown, PA period, used prior to the establishment of his long-standing Parkersburg, WV operation. A thin 4" crack from rim on front. Chipping around interior of rim. Two chips to inner wax sealer rim. A few chips to bottom edge of rim on exterior. A small worn area on reverse. Some light staining. H 8 3/8".
