Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Thompson Pottery, Morgantown, WV origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with rounded and tooled shoulder, pronounced, squared rim, and tooled body, brush-decorated with a looping stem bearing four open-centered flowers. Impressed with Thompson Pottery two-gallon capacity mark on proper left side of jar. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a tiny in-the-firing ping to shoulder. H 12 1/4".
