Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON SONS / WORCESTER, MA," circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a dove with looping wing detail, perched on a branch. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. Spout chips. Some staining to surface. Crazing to underside. A few in-the-firing flaws to surface. A minor base chip. H 14 1/2".
