Very Rare Miniature Anna Pottery Salt-Glazed Stoneware Log Cabin, attributed to Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, circa 1888, hollow-molded sculpture of a cabin with chimney, window, and hand-incised door. This cabin was likely made as a campaign souvenir for Benjamin Harrison, Republican candidate in the U.S. Presidential Election of 1888. Harrison adopted the log cabin symbol from his grandfather, Whig President William Henry Harrison, who used it during his own campaign in the Election of 1840, projecting an image as a man of the people. Provenance: Acquired by the consignor directly from a member of the Kirkpatrick family in the 1970s. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. L 2 1/2" ; W 1 3/4" ; H 2 1/4".
