Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "KNOTTS.SWINDLER & CO / PALATINE / W VA.," circa 1875, cylindrical form with recessed "wax sealer" rim, featuring Knotts, Swindler & Co maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled flourish. A tiny chip to interior of rim. Inner wax sealer rim with two chips and a few minuscule nicks. A small surface nick near base on front. H 6 5/8".
