Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug with Rock Teeth, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa mid 1970s, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils, ears, with carved nostrils nose, and open mouth with four rock teeth. Surface covered in a dark-olive alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. A fine example of Meaders's classic rock tooth style, featuring unusually large rocks. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 10 1/2".
