Stoneware Jug with Salisbury, MD Advertising, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1880, squat-shaped jug with tooled spout, impressed with the advertising, "S. ULMAN & BRO / WHOLESALE&RETAIL / DEALER IN / LIQUORS,CIGARS& TOBACCO / SALISBURY .MD." Desirable Eastern Shore of Maryland advertising and ship chandler's form. A spider crack in underside extending up left and right sides of jug. A spout chip. A glazed-over flake to side of handle. The number "340" in silver ink at base on reverse. Minor traces of old green paint to reverse. H 8 1/2".
