Glazed Redware Shaving Mug, probably New England origin, 19th century, ovoid form with flared collar and separately-thrown attached receptacle at rim, the lead-glazed surface decorated with streaks of blackish manganese against a red-and-orange ground. Small rim chips. Wear to rim of mug and receptacle. Wear to handle. Small chips and wear to base. Minor wear to interior of receptacle. H 4".
