Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN OTTMAN & CO, / FORT EDWARD N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with heavily-tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of crossed birds with different crests, perched on a forked tree branch. Cobalt accents to maker's mark. Very nice condition with two small chips to proper right handle and some minor surface wear. H 11 7/8".
