Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Cobalt Bird Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large design of a crested bird with ringed neck, standing atop a heavily-dashed ground. Chips to interior of rim. A minor chip and nick to exterior of rim on reverse. A 1" line to exterior of rim on reverse. A short line at base. A very minor base chip. Staining to surface. An 8" diagonal surface line on side of crock, not visible on interior. H 11 3/8".
